The Idea. When first booking this wedding, we swapped the engagement session for a separate session specifically for their first look. Which, at the time, we did to save time on the wedding day (which in turn saves money) & gives them the intimate vow exchange they were wanting. I 100% believe that this is the way to go. Truly.
*NOW IN HIND SIGHT - I will probably suggest this option to my clients every single time. WHY: their wedding day was so windy, we couldn't go outside for photos. We tried our best to stay indoors for the majority, got lucky with a few outside. So the saving grace was the photos we took during their first look.
First Look. We couldn't have asked for better weather. There wasn't a slight breeze, it wasn't freezing cold and it wasn't hot. You know that feeling of just being perfectly comfortable outside? that was this morning. And to think it was at sunrise in April! Starting at a sharp 5:45am, Cameron got to see Alicia in her full bridal best for the very first time. The vow exchange was so sweet, it's nice that they got to just be in the moment with each other. Photos: we started when the sky was still a little dark. As the sun came up we got the blues & purples then the sorbet pink & orange right before the sun was fully fully up. Sunrise is my favorite time to shoot out there in Red Rock!
Wedding Day. I can't even express to you how amazing Alicia planned this wedding. Her style was so filippin' pretty I couldn't stop repeating "omg this is so pretty". If you're not familiar with this venue, the actual event hall is pretty small. There is not a lot of choices for photos (if you're avoiding harsh light or wind) and unfortunately because of the wind we didn't have a whole lot of back up options. Again, thank god we did their first look the weekend before! Everyone was so fun & these two are so easy going - definitely another wedding for the books!
